Why AION 2 drops you at a transition
While you stay in one zone, the game keeps one connection to its game server. A teleport, a dungeon entry, a channel switch or a return from the Abyss moves you to another game server, and the client opens a new connection.
Teleport, dungeon, channel — the client connects to a different game server.
The route to the new address loses packets or stops passing data. The client waits for an answer.
A connection error and the login screen. You log straight back in with no queue.
That's why a bad route shows up as disconnects on teleports rather than as constant lag: a steady connection can survive packet loss for a while, a new one can't.
Is it the route or your PC?
- It drops you at transitions — teleports, dungeons, channel switches. Mid-fight drops with no transition are less common.
- You can log straight back in — the server is up and there's no queue.
- Friends in the same party are fine — the problem is on your side of the route.
- The ping number looks normal, but you see spikes and loss right before the drop.
6 checks in 10 minutes
- Server status. Open the server status page: during maintenance and while the world is starting, everyone gets dropped. Europe is checked by connecting to the game servers every minute.
- Ping and loss. The plugin's in-game panel shows ping to the server the game is connected to, plus jitter and loss over the last 30 readings. Healthy is 0 % loss and jitter under 10 ms. 2–5 % loss and spikes point at the route.
- Another connection. Tether from your phone and do 10 teleports in a row. No drops — it's your home provider or router. Still dropping — the problem is further along the route to the game servers.
- Cable and a quiet network. Use a cable instead of Wi-Fi and pause downloads: Steam, torrents, Windows Update, cloud drives. Wi-Fi drops packets even on a good line.
- Steam's network rules. Steam launches AION 2, so the game inherits every network rule set for steam.exe — in your firewall, antivirus or network apps. If Steam has a special rule, it applies to the game too: make sure both are set up the same way.
- The game log. Open
%LOCALAPPDATA%\NCSOFT\NccrData\com.ncsoft.aion2globaland the newest*.breadcrumb.log. A network drop looks like aFlow.Teleportline followed right away byFlow.LoginToLoginServer— the client went back to the login server.
What doesn't help
- Reinstalling or verifying files. If you drop at transitions, the game files aren't the issue.
- Switching servers inside the region. Same network, same route.
- Changing DNS. The game connects to the same addresses; the route doesn't depend on DNS.
- Windows "optimizers" and registry cleaners. The problem is outside your PC.
- Restarting the game over and over. If the servers are in maintenance, wait for "Servers are up".
Third-party "boosters" and damage meters that read the client's traffic or memory can get you banned. Details: DPS meters and bans.
Playing from Russia
AION 2 Global isn't officially sold in Russia, but Russian-speaking players are on every region, mostly Europe. The EU game servers run through Cloudflare, and since summer 2025 many Russian providers have had unstable connections to that network: a connection opens, the first data goes through, then it stalls. Cloudflare itself reported this in June 2025. For players there, teleport disconnects come in waves — a quiet week, then five drops in one evening — regardless of their PC.
The Russian-speaking community keeps a pinned setup guide in the «Запуск, пинг, ошибки» topic of its Telegram chat. Server alerts in English come from @Aion2Status_Bot.
Watch your connection while you play
AION2 Status sits on top of the game and measures ping to your server once a second — the one the game connected to when you entered the world. It learns the address from the Windows connection list and the game log, read-only. Jitter and loss cover the last 30 readings, with a live graph in the in-game panel.
A flat line and 0 % loss: go ahead with the dungeon. Spikes and loss: maybe don't start the raid yet.

Frequently asked questions
Why does AION 2 disconnect me when I teleport?
A teleport, a dungeon entry, a channel switch or leaving the Abyss makes the game connect to another game server. If the connection to the new address stalls, the client gives up, shows a connection error and sends you back to the login screen.
Is a disconnect a ban or an account problem?
No. A dropped connection is a network error; nothing happens to your account. If it happens on almost every teleport, the problem is the route to the server.
What ping is good for AION 2?
Steadiness matters more than the number: 0 % packet loss and jitter under 10 ms. A steady 60 ms plays better than a jumpy 35 ms with a couple of percent lost.
Will switching servers inside a region help?
Rarely. The game servers of a region sit in the same network, so the route is the same. Pick your region by its event clock and where your friends play.
Can I play AION 2 from Russia?
Many Russian-speaking players do, mostly on Europe. AION 2 Global isn't officially sold in Russia, and many Russian providers have unstable connections to the network the EU game servers run through — so lag and teleport disconnects are common there.
Does AION2 Status fix lag?
No — it doesn't change your network or touch the game. It shows ping, jitter and loss to your server every second, so you can see when the connection starts to go bad and whether a fix helped.
